The Skeleton Coast of Namibia is renowned for it's harness and cruelty, however, it provides excellent conditions for Powered Paragliding, as smooth onshore laminar winds hit the coastline with mild speeds, almost throughout the day. The wide open spaces, and very limit air-traffic along the endless stretching beaches lures one to fly the extra mile of discovery. Endless views welcomes one, as you are free to explore the coastline on almost any height, from 5 meters above the beach to even 2000 m above the coastline. The landscape is barren, desolate, flat and absolutely beautiful with most rewarding panoramic views.

The Skeleton Coast is an absolute must-to-fly for every adventurous PPG-Pilot. Launches can be done almost anywhere along the 110 mile long beach from Swakopmund northwards towards Henties Bay and the Ugab River mouth. 

Swakopmund is the ideal laid-back holiday town, and there is loads of great places of interest to see and more things to do, like free flying on the dunes between Swakopmund and Langstrand or  Quadd Biking on the dunes and much more.

You can easily PPG-fly between 70 and160 km's along this stretch of coastline. The record for the farthest PPG flight in Namibia is held by Christo Pieterse, for the distance of 130 km's on an APCO FUTURA 38 glider.
